The OSTA dedicates itself to promote trapshooting as an enjoyable sport that has a
signature of good sportsmanship, conduct and safety.  Since 1887, we have served
the needs of Ohio trapshooters by promoting trapshooting as a wholesome sport
enjoyed by people from all walks of life.  Families, youths to seniors, men and
women, participate in trapshooting.  It’s an environment that promotes good
sportsmanship and conduct. The Board of Directors and Officers are committed
to serve the shooters of Ohio and their gun clubs.

OSTA Champion of Champions Program for 2015 Ohio State Shoot  

The Championof Champions program is designed to help the smaller clubs get more shootersto participate in ATA registered events.  Each club that is authorized to hold ATA registered events in the state of Ohio can participate. Each club has the option to hold a Champion of Champions qualifier event. The event must be so noted when making application to hold the shoot. Application for a Championof Champions initial qualifiermust be made 14 calendar days prior to the scheduled event date with the OSTA secretary. Application for a Championof Champions rescheduled qualifier must be made 7 calendar days prior to the scheduled event date with the OSTA secretary.

 

Event qualifiers will be held on 100 target programs for singles,doubles, and handicap. The high score and runner-up for each event along with the high score and runner-up by category for Junior, Sub Jr., Lady, Veteran and Senior Veteranwill qualify for the Champion of Champions award at the Ohio State shoot. Multiple categories if applicable may be declared at qualifying events. 

Event winners must have qualifying club name, event, shooter name, ATA number and the type of qualification(Champion, Runner-up, Jr., Sub Jr., Lady, Veteran, Senior Veteran and Runner-ups for all categories)identified on the shoot report and submitted to the OSTA secretary (incomplete reports will not be accepted) 

A minimumof 3 shooters per event is required for the event to be considered a valid qualifier. Multiple qualifiers can be hosted in order to complete the requirements for singles, doubles, and handicap.

 At the Ohio State shoot all qualifiers will have their scores recorded for the singles, handicap, and doubles

 from  Thursdays eve nt s (June 25th, 2015) shooters who qualify as a champion or runner-up may not fall back to category if they have not qualified for said category. Ties for champion and category will be determined by sub event from first to last. If still tied, a high card draw will determine the winner. 

Shooters may qualify at different clubs for the same or different event/category. Shooters do not need to be a residentof Ohio to participate in this program.

Any questions about the program should be directed to the Secretary of the OSTA who in turn will document your question and forward to the appropriate OSTA director for a response.

The NORTHEAST ZONE won the singles in the 2014 State Shoot Singles Championship.  In the Championship Doubles on Sunday,
the SOUTHEAST ZONE was the winner. 
Participating members of these teams each received $100.00.

At the Cardinal Shooting Center, there is a brick walkway under the O.S.T.A.
awning, by the score sheet annex area. This area is on the east end of the 1st
Vendor’s building. The O.S.T.A. is selling engraved bricks for the walkway.
You or your Gun Club, can become a permanent part of this wonderful facility and
trapshooting history. You can buy a brick to commemorate a special memory like the
day you broke your first 100 straight, or in memory of a special loved one. The
possibilities are endless. Please consider buying a brick and becoming a part of
the history of Cardinal Shooting Center. These bricks will last forever so
generations of shooters will be able to view your message.
